Main OINP Streams
1. Employer Job Offer Category
This category is meant for persons having a valid job offer from an eligible employer in Ontario.
Streams comprise:
- Foreign Worker Stream :For skilled workers who have a job offer in an occupation based on TEER (0, 1, 2, 3).
- International Student Stream :For students who have graduated from Canadian post-secondary institutions that are eligible and having a job offer.
- In-Demand Skills Stream :For individuals in non-skilled (TEER 4 & 5) areas that are high-demand but low-skilled, such as agriculture, construction, transportation, and personal support workers.
2. Human Capital Category
This category is for individuals possessing a strong education, superb language skills, and work experience to easily integrate into Ontario.
Streams comprise:
A. Express Entry Streams
The streams pick candidates directly from the federal Express Entry pool.
- Human Capital Priorities Stream : This is for skilled workers with highly rated profiles. Ontario often does favorable draws for tech, healthcare, finance, trades, etc.
- French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream : It is meant for applicants who are (English + French) bilingual and have a strong command of both languages.
- Skilled Trades Stream : For candidates with any of the skills (construction, manufacturing, industrial sectors) who are residing in Ontario and are in the skilled trades category.
B. International Graduates
The stream is designed for graduates from eligible universities in Ontario.
- Masters Graduate Stream : It is for the people who got their Master’s degree in Ontario.
- PhD Graduate Stream : It is for the people who got their PhD degree in Ontario.

How OINP Works
- Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) or wait for a direct Express Entry Notification of Interest (NOI).
- If chosen, you will be sent an invitation to apply.
- Send a complete application to OINP.
- If it is approved, you will get a Provincial Nomination.
- The nomination adds 600 extra CRS points (for Express Entry streams) making it certain to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
- Apply for Canadian Permanent Residency through IRCC.
